Popularity and 'fitting in' is shown at the beginning of the film as well as through out the film. The film consists of many friendships and relationships including parent & child relationships.
Money is a significant factor in the film as it is shown several times and makes it possible for the teenagers to briefly live a glamorous lifestyle, similar to celebrity lifestyle.
Celebrity culture is an important theme in The Bling Ring because it is the celebrity lifestyle that influences those deemed to be celebrities.
The ring leader of the group of teenagers in the film is influenced to steal by a particular celebrity, Lindsay Lohan. She describes her as her role model.
The glamorous lifestyle of celebrities leaves the teens hungry for more, and drives them to continue stealing.

Music played in the film are: Hip-hop, Dance/Trance
Music played in The Bling Ring is mainly hip-hop and dane music. This gives the audience an insight to what teenagers may be listening to today. The music is mostly upbeat and emphasises the criminal aspect of the teens in the film as the upbeat music insinuates the adrenaline, fear and excitement the teenagers may be feeling when stealing.

Costumes in the film are: Fashionable  and stylish young designer outfits
The outfits in the film are trendy celebrity clothing and as the plot of the film surrounds celebrity possessions and attire, there is a lot of focus on the clothing that is worn by the characters in The Bling Ring. There is a change in the appearance of the characters from when we see them in the beginning of the film to when they start stealing. After they hold the possessions of the celebrities, they look more glamorous and this reflects on their attitude as well. This is fairly noticeable from the way they walk and hold themselves. They seem more confident and bold as opposed to how they were at the start.
