Evaluaton Question 1
Evaluation Question 2
teens
This is an analysis of the 'crept and Konan' music video it shows a group of young black people being rebellious and enjoying themselves. They show it as harmless fun but it still attracts police as it usually when groups of young black people get together they are subjected and the police turn up
In Chasing shadows we are shown different representations. but there is one main group shown. Young, black and rebellious teens. Marcus is a typical teenager who doesn't enjoy school and is always slacking this is shown as he has to stay back to do work when he should have done it during school hours. The second character also shows this as he is wearing his hat backwards, he is walking in a certain way and he speaks slang.
Evaluation Question 4

Evaluation Question 5
For advertisement i have made:
a website through moon fruit
I have done this as many independent films do this like 'in fear' who have thier own website for their film. The website includes Pictures, about, and Home it shows the video through Vimeo and shows pictures from out filming process
Here is the link to my own website
www.chasingshadow.moonfruit.com
I have also posted my Video on Twitter for the public to view
Over all these forms of Advertisement are the best as they are the cheapest. i made my website for free and to put videos on YouTube, vimeo or other free websites do not cost much. It also appeals to wide audience as most teenagers obtain information from the internet.

Music and sound editing
The sound effects we used were
- slow heart beats
- fast heart beats
- Rap music that Marcus raps to
- music that was quite creepy an unpleasant
the music we got was from sound cloud we got a
dub step beat that was fasts and catchy.
we got a few sound effects from YouTube like the heart beat.
My Experience
There are many things i have learnt and experienced while making this film. I have had a great time and i even hope to be doing Media in A2 simply because it is fun.
while making the film i enjoyed the idea of coming up with our own plot for the film and filming it with my group. i would say that we got on fairly well with each other and we had a good time filming and making our film to the stranded we wanted.
during this time i learnt how to use a camera professionally and i learnt all the details and effort that goes into making a movie. I also learnt there are so many different angles and shots that are used in a movie like high angles, low angles, long shots and mid shots ect.
I also learnt to use a fig rig and a tripod which made our films look more professional and interesting.
The one thing that i specifically took interest in was editing.
i would say that is where my strength was. It didn't take me long to learn the basics of using Final cut pro and other editing applications like camstasia and Motion and i found that it was very amusing and interesting to use.
One thing i found difficult was keeping up with all the blogging. this was mainly because i would spend a lot of time filming and editing that i would forget about blogging about it after and so i was left with a heap of blogging to do at the end of another task. so one thing that i learnt was to meet deadlines so the work load does not pile up at the end.
Also learning about teen dramas and rules of a film has really opened my eyes up to the film industry teen films portray many different conventions and different topics and genres.

In fact i don't think i can watch a film any more without pointing out the head space rule or different angles that they have used. Over all i would say that i enjoyed making the film and it was a challenge that i enjoyed facing.

The Idents
The idents were an important Factor in making the film. we chose to do it 2 times and change the idents many times. This is because the first pair did not fit the Film and the second ones were more simple which was what we were aiming for. The first production ident was to hard to read. The writing was red and thin and it finished to quickly, therefore we changed it to more thick writing and simple text so it's easy to read. I also changed the Beezer Production ident as it was childish and unprofessional and it looks better if it is on a simple background with simple text.
(Unfortunately there are technical difficulties uploading the idents)
Final Week of making chasing shadows
its been a tough process but we made it!
in the final week we had to do the following things
The main names we chose was Max Mount Studios and the distribution name was Beezer productions
in the final week we had to do the following things
- the screen idents and the production and distribution idents. here are some pictures of the process.
The main names we chose was Max Mount Studios and the distribution name was Beezer productions
- after we made this we realized that they were not that attractive and they were hard to read so we made it again. The idents were made in motion
- We also added the music and sound and we were Finished.
Yay!
week four, editing, filming - Tuesday 4th march 2014
we thought that we finished filming however when we showed our teacher the clips she pointed out the many mistakes that we made so we had to make it up by filming again.
we re-shot all the shots that needed to be shot and also we began editing
The editing process was extremely long and difficult. there were many tasks involved.

The editing process was extremely long and difficult. there were many tasks involved.
- Picking the exact clips that we wanted to use from the hundreds that we shot
- making sure that the shot was perfect
- making sure that it was focused and the angles was good
- making sure the lighting in the shot was acceptable
- also making each shot flow smoothly with the next
- making sure that any over the shoulder shot reverse shots were matched and the speech between two people flowed.
we can infer that using final cut pro is better for editing that camstasia for many reasons.
- the razor tool in Final Cut Pro is very useful when wanting to cut scenes and layer them.
- adding music was a lot easier on final cut pro
however we found that camstasia has some good features
- you can add effects and images while filming
- making the idents would look better and would be easier to do
week 2 of filming - Tuesday 25th February 2014
This is the second week that we were filming and the pressure was on.
we still had a lot to film like the scene of Marcus running out of the class room. We were also going to have a scene were Marcus runs towards the window and looks down to see the masked person and we filmed a scene of Mohammed (the masked character) out side the college standing on the pavement.
we thought this was a good shot as it has good technical skills involved. However we realized that filming a lift scene would have much more technical skills and would be more interesting to watch so we changed it.

week one of filming Friday 14th friday 2014
The first day we began filming was on the 14th of February.
We all came in at 11am and set up our cameras. because we were filming in college and we needed it to be empty we decided to film on this particular day as college was cancelled and it meant that not many students would be attended witch was perfect.
In this time we filmed many things.

In this time we filmed many things.
- the whole class room scene
- Some of the Establishing shots
- the scenes of Marcus waking up in shock
During this time we realized how long and tough it was filming as we needed to shoot the same scene over and over again but from different angles. However we were determined as we didn't want to fall behind and we knew that the more shots we take the better the outcome.
The Lift Situation...
The was a issue regarding the lift scene that we have in our opening.
We used two different lifts when filming our lift scene thinking that it would look ordinary, however our media teacher Marissa spotted it when we showed her the scene.
The reason why we chose to use two different lifts is because we were filming during a lunch break and the ground floor was being occupied by a host of students walking in and out of the library, and into the canteen. We decided to film the whole lift scene in one floor, so we used the lift on the right for the character Marcus to enter and the lift on the left for Marcus to come out of. The main things that exposed our lift scene difference were the size difference of both lifts, the latter lift was much bigger and had a different front look, it also had a huge dent which differed to the other lift, making the scene very unprofessional and confusing.

When the mistake was spotted by Marissa we had doubts on whether we could film the whole lift scene again to correct our mistakes because it was so close to the deadline and we were a bit unsure if we would have enough time to film and edit it again on time. We came to a conclusion to film the scene again during a time where lessons would be taking place and the ground floor would be more isolated, it was a very good decision as now, the scene looks much more continuous and more enhanced.
DEADLINE DAY
Today is the deadline day for our film opening and you could say we are under stress.

- We have yet to put music into the film, however we have a planned a schedule and the opening should be finished before 3.
- The editing for the film is complete and all the clips that we need are in the film and they are edited so the story is complete. The only thing that needs to be done is the music
- The sound effects need to be placed into the opening in a effective order
- There is music as well that needs to be put into the opening
(put in pictures of editing process of music editing)
Mistakes We Have Made.
-There were many mistakes we made when filming, some were easy to spot and others not as much.
The flow of our film kept on being ruined by the lack of continuity of protagonist's (Marcus) motion...
For example in the scene where Marcus looks out at the corridor it shows him to be looking to his left, then straight towards him then left again, which looked very odd and unrealistic. We had to film the short scene again the following day in order to avoid this small but enormous mistake.
Another mistake that we kept on doing subconsciously throughout the filming phase was looking at the camera whilst filming, which is very impractical and inept, thus needing to do more filming and editing in order to cut out the mistakes.
Although we grasped the 180 degree rule proficiently, we filmed the entire classroom and dream scene from a wonky angle and it was easily spotted by our teacher Marisa; We didn't take notice of it until she told us and therefore had to rework the scenes, we had to make sure the camera was at a straight angle when filming to not repeat the mistake. However, we did find that the wonky angle shot was effective for editing, though we didn't use much of the clips, it gave us more variety when choosing what type of shots we could add to editing.
